LocusX: C$3 Million Seed Funding Raised For Launching AI-Based Game Development Debugging Platform

Gaming technology company LocusX has raised C$3 million in seed funding to develop and launch its AI-driven issue resolution engine aimed at speeding up and improving the quality of video game and complex software development. The funding round was co-led by Diagram and Triptyq, two firms with deep experience in building and scaling technology ventures.

The company’s platform is designed to address one of the most persistent and costly challenges in game production: the debugging process. In large-scale game development, fixing bugs can be a significant source of delays, especially for AAA titles where quality expectations are high and deadlines are tight. LocusX’s technology uses artificial intelligence to analyze game data, identify issues, and provide targeted recommendations for resolution.

The system works through a suite of specialized agents that automate quality assurance processes, suggest fixes, visualize performance metrics, assist with build systems, identify player trends, and validate testing coverage. By streamlining these steps, LocusX aims to reduce the time it takes to resolve issues, enhance workflow efficiency, and provide development teams with greater confidence in the stability of their builds.

The company is led by CEO François Pelland, a veteran of the gaming industry with more than 25 years of experience at major studios including Tencent, Ubisoft, and Electronic Arts. Pelland has also held leadership roles at Google and co-founded Legion Labs. CTO Yan Côté, who co-founded the mixed reality company Vrvana before its acquisition by Apple, brings expertise in applied machine learning and immersive technology, having contributed to the development of Apple’s Vision Pro.

How the funding will be used: With this funding, LocusX plans to refine its product, expand its team, and position itself as a key player in the shift toward more efficient, data-driven, and automated game development pipelines. While its initial focus is on the gaming industry, the company sees potential to extend its AI-powered debugging capabilities to other software sectors in the future.

KEY QUOTES:

“Game development is under more pressure than ever. Studios are expected to deliver faster and better with fewer resources. We built LocusX to solve debugging, one of the most frustrating and expensive parts of the process. Our engine empowers teams with the tools to resolve issues faster, build with more confidence, and ultimately ship higher-quality games.”

LocusX Co-Founder and CEO Francois Pelland

“AI is transforming how games are built, and debugging is one of the areas where its impact is most immediate. At LocusX, we use AI to pinpoint, prioritize, and suggest fixes that streamline development pipelines and accelerate delivery. This turns what used to be a reactive, manual grind into a proactive, automated process. Developers can now spend less time fighting bugs and more time pushing the boundaries of gameplay.”

Yan Cote, CTO of LocusX

“The gaming industry is entering a new era where efficiency, data, and automation will be just as important as creativity. LocusX sits at the center of this shift. Their platform tackles one of the most costly bottlenecks in game development with AI-powered precision.”
