Longwave Financial has acquired MG Financial, a Seattle-based registered investment advisory firm founded by Maris Galins in 1994. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands Longwave’s presence in Washington State following its January 2026 merger with Spectrum, a financial planning and investment advisory firm based in Bellevue.
MG Financial has provided financial planning and asset management services to clients in the Pacific Northwest for more than 30 years.
Galins selected Longwave after conducting a search for a successor that could preserve the firm’s personalized approach and maintain continuity for its clients as he enters retirement.
Eric Chaney, a Partner and Senior Financial Advisor in Longwave’s Bellevue office, will lead the local client relationships. Chaney joined Longwave through the Spectrum merger and has experience advising families and business owners throughout the Puget Sound region.
MG Financial’s clients will join an independent advisory firm approaching $1 billion in assets under management.
Longwave provides financial planning, evidence-based portfolio design and environmental, social and governance-focused investment services to clients nationwide. It operates offices in New York City, New York’s Hudson Valley and Bellevue.
The acquisition gives Longwave a larger client base across Seattle and Bellevue while advancing its strategy of establishing a meaningful Pacific Northwest presence.
