Lowenstein Sandler has hired Ivan K. Blumenthal as a partner in its Capital Markets & Securities practice as the law firm continues expanding its corporate capabilities. Blumenthal will be based in Lowenstein Sandler’s New York City office and brings experience advising underwriters, public and private companies, investors, venture capital firms, and angel investors across a broad range of securities transactions.
His practice includes initial public offerings, follow-on public offerings, at-the-market offerings, private investments in public equity transactions, and other equity and debt financings.
Blumenthal has particular experience working with companies in the life sciences, consumer products, and technology industries. His client base includes both domestic and international issuers as well as investment banks and private investors.
In addition to transactional work, Blumenthal advises corporate management teams, boards of directors, and board committees on securities disclosure, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters.
His work includes advising companies on Securities Act and Exchange Act compliance, fiduciary duties, codes of conduct, executive compensation, special committee matters, and internal controls relating to SEC disclosure.
The addition strengthens Lowenstein Sandler’s ability to advise companies and financial institutions throughout the capital-raising lifecycle, from private financings and PIPE transactions through IPOs and subsequent public offerings.
Blumenthal’s experience also complements the firm’s work with companies navigating ongoing public-company obligations after completing a financing or listing, including disclosure requirements, governance structures, and board-level responsibilities.
Prior to joining Lowenstein Sandler, Blumenthal was a partner at Mintz. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.
