LPL Financial announced that financial advisors Ryan Lewis, Dan Hocking and Steve Braatz have joined Linsco by LPL Financial to launch ClearHaven Wealth Management, a Minnesota-based practice serving approximately $395 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets.
Lewis joins LPL from Morgan Stanley, while Hocking and Braatz join from RBC Wealth Management.
ClearHaven Wealth Management primarily serves high-net-worth individuals and families, including multigenerational client relationships that span decades. The team focuses heavily on clients approaching or living in retirement, providing investment management, wealth preservation and long-term financial planning services.
The advisors emphasize personalized service, accessibility and ongoing communication while combining relationship management with portfolio oversight.
The practice is also supported by LPL Registered Administrative Assistant Cade Nelson and administrative professional Nikki Hocking.
The ClearHaven team has longstanding personal and professional ties. Lewis and Braatz have known each other since childhood and have spent much of their careers working together to serve clients and build their practices. The group also includes second-generation financial advisors who have continued family traditions of serving clients across multiple generations.
ClearHaven chose LPL’s Linsco model because the team wanted greater autonomy and the ability to establish its own brand without assuming all of the administrative responsibilities associated with operating a fully independent business.
The advisors were particularly attracted to LPL’s technology platform, operational support and infrastructure, which they believe will allow them to spend more time focused on clients while retaining greater control over how their practice operates.
Linsco is LPL’s employee advisor model, designed to provide advisors with the ability to operate a branded practice while receiving support with many of the operational functions that would otherwise be handled independently.
The addition of ClearHaven expands LPL’s advisor network as the company continues recruiting teams from major wirehouses and wealth management firms.
LPL supports more than 32,000 financial advisors and the wealth management businesses of approximately 1,100 financial institutions. The company services and custodies approximately $2.6 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets for approximately 8 million Americans.
