LPL Financial Expands Wealth Management Platform As HNW And UHNW Assets Top $300 Billion

LPL Financial is expanding its wealth management platform with new capabilities across investment management, alternative investments, tax planning, banking, lending and high-net-worth services as the firm looks to help advisors deliver more comprehensive financial advice.

The updates were highlighted at LPL’s Focus 2026 conference in San Diego, where executives emphasized how technology-enabled efficiency can give advisors more capacity to provide personalized wealth management services.

LPL CEO Rich Steinmeier said the firm’s strategy centers on combining technology, human expertise and integrated capabilities to help advisors address more areas of clients’ financial lives.

Chief Wealth Officer Aneri Jambusaria outlined several enhancements designed to connect planning, investing and lending more closely across the LPL platform.

One of the largest areas of expansion is LPL’s Model Wealth Portfolios platform, which has grown to more than $200 billion. The firm plans to lower investment minimums to $1,000 later in 2026, which is intended to make professionally managed investment solutions available to a broader range of clients.

LPL has also expanded its alternative investments platform to nearly 110 strategies spanning private equity, real estate and tax-advantaged solutions.

In banking and lending, the firm is continuing development of its in-house securities-backed lending product, called the Secured Credit Account, while also expanding integrated cash management capabilities.

LPL is placing additional emphasis on high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. More than $300 billion in HNW and UHNW assets are currently held on the firm’s platform.

A central component of that effort is Private Wealth Partners, which connects advisors with specialists in areas including tax planning, equity compensation, business succession, and trust and estate planning.

LPL said its broader strategy is to help advisors integrate financial planning, investment management, retirement income, banking and specialized advice into a more comprehensive client experience.

The firm currently supports more than 32,000 financial advisors and the wealth management practices of approximately 1,100 financial institutions. LPL services and custodies approximately $2.6 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets on behalf of about 8 million Americans.
