LPL Financial Launches Latitude To Unify AI, Cybersecurity And Advisor Technology

LPL Financial has launched LPL Latitude, a unified technology experience that connects the firm’s data architecture, cybersecurity systems, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, advisor workflows, and end-investor applications. The initiative is designed to provide a common technology foundation across LPL’s wealth management platform while enabling the company to introduce new capabilities more quickly and consistently.

LPL has invested nearly $2 billion over the past three years in the core technologies supporting Latitude, including increased annual spending on cybersecurity protections. The company expects to introduce more than 35 major technology enhancements within the platform during 2026, representing what it described as the largest collection of advanced features launched in its history.

Latitude is organized around five areas: connected data, secure and resilient infrastructure, AI embedded within advisor workflows, an enhanced advisor operating system and expanded digital applications for investors. The platform will support more than 32,000 financial advisors and approximately 1,100 financial institutions using LPL’s brokerage, advisory, custody and technology services.

LPL’s position as a self-clearing broker-dealer and custodian gives the company direct access to information produced across account administration, transactions, advisory programs and other parts of its platform. Latitude is intended to connect those data sources so advisors and institutions can identify trends, benchmark performance and make more informed business decisions.

The connected data architecture supports LPL’s Advisor Growth System, which helps advisors and financial institutions evaluate their performance, identify potential growth opportunities and implement strategic improvements with assistance from LPL. The system is available to affiliated advisors and institutions without an additional charge.

Cybersecurity is embedded throughout the Latitude platform as LPL responds to rising fraud, data protection and regulatory risks across financial services. The company’s planned and recently launched capabilities include phishing-resistant multifactor authentication, data-minimization initiatives and the LPL Business Browser, which applies additional security controls while creating a foundation for future AI-powered functionality.

LPL began deploying the Business Browser earlier in 2026 and said it has blocked thousands of attempted cyberattacks against advisor systems. Data minimization is intended to reduce the amount of sensitive information retained or exposed within individual processes, limiting the potential impact of a breach or unauthorized access event.

Latitude will also incorporate Cyan, LPL’s AI agent for advisor workflows. Cyan is being developed to operate across the platform, provide contextual intelligence and automate selected routine activities without requiring advisors to move between multiple applications.

Initial Cyan capabilities scheduled to launch later in 2026 include conversational generative AI for workflow guidance, agentic automation for account maintenance, practice-growth recommendations based on performance data, and AI-generated financial planning insights and summaries. LPL is positioning the technology as a tool for expanding advisor capacity rather than replacing the judgment and client relationships provided by financial professionals.

The company is also upgrading ClientWorks, its operating system for advisors. Planned additions include single client relationship agreements and a mobile application intended to simplify account opening and allow advisors to complete more activities while away from their offices.

Single relationship agreements can reduce the number of separate documents clients must review when establishing multiple accounts or services. Integrating that process into ClientWorks could shorten onboarding times while supporting more consistent documentation across the firm.

LPL’s Account View investor experience will receive additional self-service capabilities, including secure document sharing, income and distribution tracking, integrated electronic signatures and connections to financial planning information. These enhancements are intended to make it easier for clients to access account information, complete administrative tasks and remain connected to their financial plans.

Latitude will continue to support LPL’s connected technology ecosystem, which allows advisors to use selected third-party applications alongside the firm’s proprietary tools. The company plans to combine that choice with a more unified infrastructure so external applications, LPL systems, data and AI capabilities can operate within a consistent technology environment.

LPL plans to demonstrate Cyan’s agentic workflows and other elements of Latitude during its Focus 2026 conference. The company services and custodies approximately $2.3 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets for roughly eight million Americans.
