LPL Financial has added financial advisor Dawn Parks and her practice, Sunny Day Financial, to its broker-dealer and Registered Investment Advisor platforms. Parks reported serving approximately $150 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets. She joins LPL from Cetera Wealth Services.
The asset figure is based on account and holding information provided to LPL as of the end of 2025.
Based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Sunny Day Financial is a woman-owned wealth management and financial planning practice led by Parks, who serves as its Owner and Director of Wealth Management and Planning.
Parks holds the Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter designations and is also an Enrolled Agent. She is supported by Investment Operations Manager Karen Umpierre.
The practice works with a diverse group of clients who are preparing for retirement, approaching retirement or already retired. Its client base also includes widows and single women who may require specialized planning as they manage financial decisions independently.
Sunny Day Financial emphasizes accessibility, active listening and individualized planning. Parks seeks to understand each client’s circumstances, concerns and priorities before recommending a financial strategy.
The practice aims to help clients make informed decisions involving retirement planning, investments, income needs and other aspects of their financial lives.
Parks selected LPL because of the firm’s scale, self-clearing platform and operating resources.
A self-clearing platform allows a financial services company to handle functions such as trade processing, asset custody, transaction settlement and recordkeeping through its own infrastructure rather than relying entirely on an outside clearing firm.
Parks believes LPL’s integrated platform could simplify the practice’s operations, improve efficiency and support future growth.
The affiliation also gives Sunny Day Financial access to LPL’s investment solutions, financial technology, practice management services and strategic resources.
LPL supports more than 32,000 financial advisors and the wealth management practices of approximately 1,100 financial institutions. The company services and custodies approximately $2.3 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets for about eight million Americans.
Parks is also an active member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce in Richardson, Texas.
Sunny Day Financial and LPL Financial will remain separate entities.
