LTC Properties has elected Pam Kessler and Clint Malin, the company’s Co-Presidents and Co-Chief Executive Officers, to its board of directors, effective September 22, 2026. The appointments expand LTC’s board from six to eight directors, five of whom are independent.
The leadership changes follow the executives’ work to develop LTC’s Seniors Housing Operating Portfolio (SHOP) and reposition the real estate investment trust for additional growth.
Kessler and Malin have each spent more than two decades at LTC, developing extensive experience across the company’s seniors housing and healthcare real estate investment businesses.
The two executives have served as Co-Presidents since May 2020 and Co-CEOs since December 2024.
Their election to the board formalizes their participation in the company’s corporate governance alongside their existing executive leadership responsibilities.
The appointments also reflect LTC’s evolving investment strategy as it expands its SHOP platform.
Under the SHOP model, a real estate investment trust participates more directly in the operating performance of its seniors housing properties rather than relying exclusively on rental income from traditional lease arrangements.
The structure gives LTC additional exposure to property-level operating results, creating opportunities to benefit from improvements in occupancy, revenue, and operating performance.
However, it also introduces greater exposure to operating expenses and fluctuations in property performance.
LTC’s leadership has been working to build and expand the SHOP platform alongside its established investment activities.
The company also invests through triple-net leases and joint ventures, maintaining several approaches to owning and financing seniors housing and healthcare properties.
LTC currently owns interests in 180 properties across the United States.
Based on gross real estate investments, approximately 77% of its portfolio consists of seniors housing communities, with the remaining assets comprising skilled nursing centers.
The portfolio provides LTC with exposure to different segments of the senior care market, including residential communities and properties offering more intensive healthcare services.
Kessler and Malin’s appointment adds their operating and investment experience to the board as LTC continues executing its strategy.
Executive Chairman Wendy Simpson identified their contributions to the SHOP platform as an important part of the company’s transformation.
Their board appointments also establish a governance structure in which LTC’s two chief executives participate directly in board discussions and decisions.
With the additions, independent directors continue to hold a majority of the eight board seats.
The appointments took effect September 22, completing the board expansion while Kessler and Malin retain their responsibilities as Co-Presidents and Co-CEOs.
KEY QUOTES:

“They have been instrumental in leading transformation of LTC through our SHOP platform to better capitalize on accelerating both the external and internal growth profiles of the Company. Their experience and perspective will be invaluable additions to our Board.”
Wendy Simpson, Executive Chairman Of LTC Properties
