Lua announced it has raised $5.8 million in seed funding to develop an operating system designed for collaboration between human teams and AI agents in the workplace. The round was led by Norrsken22, with participation from Flourish Ventures, 20VC, P1 Ventures, Phosphor Capital, and Y Combinator, along with angel investors including Henri Stern, Kaz Nejatian, and Med Benmansour.
Founded by Lorcan O’Cathain and Stefan Kruger, Lua is building a platform that enables organizations to create, deploy, and manage AI agent workforces without requiring deep technical expertise. The company’s system provides a full-stack environment that handles infrastructure, model orchestration, data integration, and monitoring, allowing users to focus on defining business logic and workflows.
Lua’s platform supports both technical and non-technical users through a combination of developer tools and a visual interface, enabling teams to collaboratively build and operate AI agents within their existing systems. The company positions its offering as an “operating system” for agent-driven work, where human and AI workflows are integrated and coordinated.
Since launching its developer platform in October 2025, Lua has reported rapid growth, with revenue increasing approximately 30% week-over-week. The company also noted that in February 2026, more agents were built on its platform than during the entire prior period since launch.
The new funding will be used to expand Lua’s developer ecosystem and grow its Lua Implementation Network, a global partner community that deploys agent-based systems across different markets.
Lua’s approach emphasizes ownership and flexibility, allowing companies to retain control over their agent systems and economics, rather than relying on proprietary, usage-based platforms. The company aims to provide a scalable foundation for businesses to integrate AI agents into everyday operations and drive long-term efficiency gains.
Operating globally since its inception, Lua has deployed its platform across markets in Africa, Asia, the United States, and Europe, reflecting its focus on building a distributed, international user base.
KEY QUOTES:
“The companies that will win over the next few years are the ones that build their agent workforce with the same intentionality they bring to their human workforce. Most businesses are either blocked by technical complexity or locked into rigid tools that don’t reflect how their teams actually work. Most agent platforms compound this with black box tooling and per-outcome pricing: the more your agents succeed, the more you pay, with no pathway to improving your agent economics. Lua is built on the opposite principle: teams own their agents, own their outcomes, and build compounding efficiency over time.”
Lorcan O’Cathain, Co-Founder and CEO, Lua
“We are thrilled to support Lua. The founders fundamentally understand how agent and human workforces need to collaborate to get work done. Additionally, they are a global company that has deployed in Africa, Asia, the U.S. and Europe with deep experience, a volume of data, and a pricing intuition that’s difficult to replicate. We’re excited to help them build out this operating system for human and agent workforces.”
