Lukka, a global provider of institutional digital asset data and software, announced the acquisition of PEER DATA, the creator of the Data Book of Record (DBOR) platform and patented Daisy Chain technology for end-to-end data traceability.
The acquisition brings together two companies focused on helping financial institutions manage, govern, and trust critical data. Lukka is known for providing audit-ready digital asset data and software used by funds, administrators, auditors, banks, and exchanges, while PEER DATA specializes in contract digitization, usage metering, and data traceability solutions that help organizations govern large-scale data environments.
According to the companies, the combination addresses growing institutional demand for trusted data governance as digital assets become more widely adopted, data commerce expands, and artificial intelligence increases the importance of provenance, licensing, and attribution. By combining Lukka’s expertise in digital asset data with PEER DATA’s governance and traceability capabilities, the company aims to create a unified platform for pricing, classification, provenance, licensing, and governance across digital assets, traditional data, and enterprise AI.
The combined company will continue operating under the Lukka brand and remain headquartered in New York. PEER DATA’s platform will be integrated into Lukka’s existing product portfolio without disrupting current customers, and expanded capabilities are expected to roll out through 2026.
Lukka will maintain its AICPA SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II, and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications, while adding PEER DATA’s SOC 2 Type II certification and patented Daisy Chain technology to its portfolio.
Founded in 2014, Lukka provides institutional-grade data and software solutions for digital assets, serving banks, asset managers, exchanges, fintech companies, government agencies, and other organizations. The company helps clients manage pricing, analytics, tax, compliance, benchmarking, investigations, and market intelligence across blockchain and tokenized-asset markets.
KEY QUOTES:
“Every institution we serve is wrestling with the same problem at a larger scale. How do you trust, govern, and operate on data when the volume, velocity, and stakes keep increasing? Lukka answered that question for digital assets. PEER DATA answered it for data commerce. Together, we become the institutional control layer for both, and for what comes next as assets and data move on-chain and AI consumption becomes a first-class governance problem.”
Kiet Tran, CEO, Lukka
“Lukka and PEER DATA have always been solving adjacent problems for the same customers, with the same operating standards. We can now tell institutions what their data is and what it’s worth, who has the right to use it, where it has gone, and how to operate on it with full transparency.”
Kat Tatochenko, Co-Founder and CEO, PEER DATA
