Luma AI: International Expansion With New London Office

By Amit Chowdhry • Dec 6, 2025

Luma AI announced a major international expansion, opening its first office outside the United States and appointing former WPP and Monks executive Jason Day as Head of EMEA. The London office marks the company’s initial step toward global scale following its recent $900 million Series C investment led by HUMAIN.

The company said it will add 200 new jobs in London in 2026 across research, engineering, partnerships, and strategic development, with additional hiring expected across the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Saudi Arabia by 2028 as creative and advertising workflows continue to evolve. Luma AI is expanding its presence to regions where creative production and emerging content economies are skyrocketing.

The new office positions Luma AI at the center of London’s established advertising, entertainment, and brand ecosystem. The company’s goal is to work closely with local creators, agencies, and studios to advance the development and deployment of its multimodal generative intelligence models. Luma’s portfolio includes its flagship Dream Machine platform and Ray3, a reasoning video model that produces physically accurate animations and high-fidelity visuals for professional use.

Day, who will oversee international business development, partnerships, and customer expansion, brings more than 15 years of global leadership experience in creative technology, commercial strategy, and cross-market team building. His industry background includes senior roles at WPP and an MBA from the University of Oxford’s Said Business School.

The expansion builds on Luma AI’s Series C round and its partnership with HUMAIN on Project Halo, a two-gigawatt supercluster designed to power large-scale multimodal world models. These systems will support advanced creative production, simulation, education, design, and advertising use cases.

Entertainment studios, agencies, and technology partners, including Adobe and AWS, already use Luma AI’s technology. Its services are available by subscription or API.

KEY QUOTES:

“With this Series C raise and the upcoming build-out of global compute infrastructure, we have the capital and capacity to bring world-scale AI to creatives everywhere. Launching across EMEA is the logical next step in putting this power directly in the hands of storytellers, agencies, and brands globally.”

Amit Jain, CEO and Co-Founder, Luma AI

“Jason brings a rare combination of commercial strategy, international growth experience, and deep understanding of the creative space. His leadership across Monks and WPP – especially scaling large cross-border teams and building client relationships in markets like London. Munich and Riyadh make him the ideal leader to drive our next chapter. With Jason leading from London, Luma AI can bring creative intelligence directly into the hands of marketers and storytellers around the world.”

Caroline Ingeborn, COO, Luma AI

“Luma AI is the world leader in developing multimodal artificial generative intelligence (AGI) for the creative industry. Putting that intelligence into the hands of creative professionals around the world – be they marketers, gamers, or film studios – will transform the entire creative process. The regions we are expanding into are actively building new creative economies, with a need for technology that accelerates production without compromising quality. The potential for creative intelligence is still largely untapped, and this is the moment to scale it across industries and geographies.”
