Luma Group has closed LumaBio Fund I at $410 million in committed capital, completing the final close of its inaugural life sciences venture capital fund.

The fund is backed by a global investor base spanning financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Luma Group’s investment strategy is based on the convergence of biology, chemistry, physics and artificial intelligence and the firm’s belief that advances across those disciplines will drive a new generation of life sciences companies.

Structured as a 15-year investment vehicle, LumaBio Fund I plans to invest early in companies and continue supporting its highest-conviction investments through milestones ranging from discovery to commercialization.

Since its inception in 2023, the fund has invested in companies including Aeovian Pharmaceuticals, Altos Labs, Arsenal Biosciences, Character Biosciences, Coultreon Biopharma, Curve Biosciences, Integrated Biosciences, SciThera and Vaccine Company, along with several undisclosed companies.

LumaBio Fund I recorded its first exit earlier this year when Eli Lilly acquired Vaccine Company in a transaction valued at up to $1.55 billion.

Luma Group combines scientific expertise and computational capabilities with a proprietary AI platform to inform its investment process and support portfolio companies.
