Lumia Security has officially emerged from stealth mode after securing an $18 million seed funding round led by Team8, with additional participation from prominent security leaders, New Era Capital Partners, and members of the broader cybersecurity community.

The company enters the market at a moment when enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence is rapidly accelerating. Despite this momentum, many organizations continue to struggle with visibility and control over the deployment of AI tools and autonomous agents internally.

Lumia aims to address these challenges through a usage-centric control layer that delivers oversight, intent-aware policies, and safer AI scaling across enterprise environments.

Team8’s Vice President of Cyber, Data & AI, Shirly Ozer, revealed the news and highlighted strong confidence in Lumia’s founding team. The startup is led by co-founders Omri Iluz and Bobi Gilburd, both recognized for their deep experience in cybersecurity and enterprise infrastructure.

As part of the launch, Lumia also introduced Admiral Mike Rogers, former Director of the NSA and Operating Partner at Team8, as Chairman of the company’s Advisory Board.

The new funding will support Lumia’s continued product development and expansion as enterprises increase their reliance on AI-driven workflows and require more robust governance and security mechanisms.
