Lumine Group announced that one of its subsidiaries has entered into an agreement to acquire the Video Network business from Synamedia, marking the company’s 16th corporate carve-out transaction. The acquisition expands Lumine’s media software ecosystem and strengthens its position across video processing, broadcast delivery, and live streaming.
Synamedia, headquartered in the United Kingdom, is a provider of video software solutions that help operators, broadcasters, and media companies deliver, manage, and monetize video services. With more than three decades of industry experience, the company combines cloud technologies, artificial intelligence capabilities, managed services, and domain expertise to support customers as the video landscape evolves.
Following the completion of the transaction, the business will operate independently under its primary product brand, Quortex, consistent with Lumine’s decentralized operating model. Quortex provides intelligent video solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments and serves broadcasters, telecommunications providers, streaming platforms, and media companies.
The business addresses several key challenges facing the media industry, including the transition from satellite to internet protocol distribution, preparation for the upcoming C-Band transition in the United States, improving viewing experiences, and helping customers monetize video services more effectively.
Synamedia said the transaction will create two focused businesses with distinct strategic priorities and category positions, enabling both organizations to accelerate innovation and deliver greater value to customers. The acquisition is expected to close in the near future, subject to customary closing conditions and employee consultation processes.
Lumine Group acquires and operates vertical market software businesses serving the communications and media industries. The company follows a long-term buy-and-hold strategy designed to strengthen and grow acquired businesses while maintaining operational independence.
