Lumora Raises Pre-Seed Funding To Target South Korea’s $145 Billion Industrial Solar Market

By Amit Chowdhry ● Aug 5, 2026

Lumora has closed a pre-seed financing round to expand its industrial solar platform across South Korea. The round was led by a fund anchored by consumer goods company Yuhan-Kimberly and managed by MYSC, with participation from HGI and other strategic investors.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Lumora plans to pursue additional capital from international investors as it expands its project pipeline.

Lumora describes itself as South Korea’s first independent power producer dedicated to underutilized industrial properties, including factory rooftops, parking structures and unused land.

The company estimates that South Korea has approximately $145 billion of untapped industrial rooftop and parking-space solar potential.

Unlike developers that primarily receive project fees, Lumora plans to own and operate the solar assets itself. This model provides customers with energy savings while allowing Lumora to generate recurring revenue from long-term electricity production.

The company has assembled a 43.6-megawatt development pipeline across South Korea and secured co-investment commitments from major conglomerates.

Lumora has also been selected for South Korea’s 2026 Eco-Startup Growth Program and the 19th Startup NEST cohort.

Its strategy covers three areas of the industrial energy market: solar generation, energy management and energy-efficiency projects.

Generation products include rooftop leases and Lumora’s ZeroOne self-consumption subscription. The company also integrates its proprietary factory energy management system and plans to develop energy service company projects as an additional growth channel.

Lumora’s team has a combined development record of approximately 595 megawatts across South Korea, Germany, Vietnam and Ireland.

KEY QUOTE:

“Lumora’s edge is the ability to run integrated energy diagnostics and back the right solution with our own capital, from generation to management to savings.”
