Lutron Electronics announced it has acquired Tanury Industries, a surface finishing and metal coatings company that has supplied Lutron with metal faceplates for more than 25 years, in a move aimed at bringing plating and coating capabilities in-house and expanding Lutron’s portfolio of premium metal finishes.

Tanury, founded in 1946, will continue operating in Lincoln, Rhode Island, and Lutron said it will keep investing in Tanury’s capabilities to support both Lutron and Tanury’s existing customer base across markets that include automotive and motorcycle components, aviation, marine hardware, and luxury products.

Lutron framed the acquisition as both a strategic and cultural fit between two family-owned businesses, citing Tanury’s quality controls, customer focus, and long-term investment in research and development as complementary to Lutron’s approach. The company said the added finishing capabilities are intended to support innovation, differentiate Lutron’s offerings in the marketplace, and improve delivery of metal-finished products globally, while Tanury leadership pointed to shared values and the opportunity to build on a long-standing partnership that helped Lutron expand its presence in premium and luxury metal finishes.
