Luxor Technology has raised $16 million in strategic financing led by CMT Digital to expand its AI compute, hardware, energy, and derivatives businesses. Canaan, MicroBT, Halo, Steelhead, and additional angel investors participated in the round, which includes a combination of primary and secondary capital.
Luxor said it selected its investors partly for their operational involvement across the compute supply chain, including hardware, energy, capital, and financial markets.
The fundraising follows the September launch of Luxor AI, which extends infrastructure and market expertise originally developed for Bitcoin mining into AI and high-performance computing.
Luxor’s hardware brokerage operation has traded approximately $1 billion of ASIC mining equipment. Its energy business services more than 75 MW of electrical load across the ERCOT and Southwest Power Pool markets, while the company’s agentic cloud platform had processed 1.8 million workloads year-to-date as of September.
Luxor plans to use the new capital to scale its agentic cloud platform, provide working capital for its expanding AI hardware business, grow compute derivatives trading and market-making capabilities, and hire additional engineering and go-to-market employees.
The company’s AI hardware operation sources GPUs and AI servers through a network of partners and also participates in special allocations, abandoned orders, and used equipment markets.
Luxor is additionally developing financial products around AI compute.
Its over-the-counter operation provides cash-settled options, forwards, and backstops based on compute-rental indexes, applying concepts from financial derivatives markets to computing capacity.
CMT Digital brings experience in electronic trading, market structure, and technology development as Luxor seeks to turn AI compute into a more standardized and tradable market.
Luxor’s broader platform spans hardware, software, finance, energy, compute trading, and data infrastructure across both Bitcoin mining and AI.
