Lydian Energy closed a $300 million holding company credit facility with Infranity to accelerate development of utility-scale battery energy storage and renewable energy projects. The financing will support development, construction, acquisition, and operation of Lydian’s portfolio of battery storage and solar projects. Lydian is backed by Excelsior Energy Capital.
Founded in 2023, the company has built a portfolio totaling approximately 6 gigawatts of operating, construction-ready, and development-stage projects across the U.S.
The facility is structured to allow Lydian to leverage the value of operating and construction-ready assets while retaining ownership of projects that can generate long-term value.
The financing also provides additional flexibility to advance projects from development through construction as electricity demand and grid modernization accelerate.
Akin Gump served as legal counsel to Lydian.
Eversheds Sutherland represented Infranity.
Infranity manages approximately €15 billion in assets on behalf of institutional investors.
Excelsior Energy Capital closed its second fund at slightly more than $1 billion in 2025 after raising $504 million for its first flagship fund in 2020.
