Lyntris announced that it has acquired Novium, a Houston-based developer of high-precision motion systems for space and defense applications.
Novium develops robotic arms and rovers, radiation-hardened motor controllers, gimbals, software, and embedded systems. The company’s motion systems have been designed for demanding space and defense applications, including human spaceflight.
The acquisition expands Lyntris’ Space ISR and Resilient Communications portfolio and strengthens its ability to deliver precision pointing and stabilization for RF and optical systems across space, ground, airborne, and maritime platforms.
Lyntris said Novium’s motion systems will support its resilient RF and optical communications offerings in contested environments. The technology is designed to help platforms acquire, track, and maintain communications and missile tracking links with accuracy and reliability.
Demand for high-performance pointing solutions is increasing as low and medium-earth-orbit satellite constellations expand, free-space optical communications grow, and beyond-line-of-sight connectivity becomes more important to military operations.
Novium’s precision motion systems are built to meet these requirements by enabling platforms to maintain agile, reliable links across the electromagnetic spectrum.
The acquisition adds to Lyntris’ vertically integrated capabilities across signal collection, processing, and precision actuation. The combined offering is intended to help customers move from aperture to action through a single partner relationship.
For Novium’s existing customers, the acquisition is expected to provide access to Lyntris’ broader ISR portfolio, expanded engineering resources, and supply chain and program management infrastructure while retaining Novium’s Houston-based operations and specialized team.
Lyntris is a defense technology company focused on sense-to-act connectivity solutions for the modern connected battlespace. The company combines hardware, software, and mission expertise to help customers detect threats earlier, decide faster, and act with precision in contested multi-domain environments.
