Lyric, a Philadelphia and Nashville-based healthcare decision intelligence company, has acquired Concert, a precision health payment accuracy firm that converts clinical and administrative policies into machine-readable, real-time decision tools. Financial terms were not disclosed. The two companies have worked together since 2023, with the scope of their joint solution growing nearly tenfold over that period before the full acquisition.
Lyric’s core platform, Lyric42, is an AI-powered healthcare decision intelligence system used by nine of the top 10 U.S. health plans to manage payment accuracy across real-time claims workflows. The company supports 200 million lives and combines clinical, regulatory, and policy expertise with AI to generate auditable payment decisions in milliseconds. Concert, founded in 2010 originally to bring transparency to genetic testing payment, has spent more than a decade building a proprietary approach to encoding clinical and administrative policy into machine-readable formats — allowing health plans and providers to apply consistent, evidence-based standards automatically within the systems they already use, rather than relying on disconnected manual review at various checkpoints in the claims process.
The strategic case for the acquisition centers on the accelerating complexity of healthcare payment decisions. The rapid proliferation of genetic testing, precision diagnostics, personalized therapies, specialty medicines, and novel treatment modalities is outpacing the ability of health plans to update and enforce coverage policy manually. Concert’s technology — which translates evolving clinical evidence into computable policy that flows directly into plan and provider workflows — addresses that gap. The integration of Concert’s capabilities into Lyric42 is intended to shift health plans from reactive enforcement to proactive, shared standards that create alignment between payers, network providers, and members before claims are submitted rather than after.
Concert’s existing Diagnostics Module, which provides policy and claim editing for all outpatient laboratory testing, will be extended across Lyric’s full client base, with additional scope expansions planned.

“Concert was built on the conviction that clinical and administrative policy should be transparent, evidence-based, and computable, delivered into the systems that health plans and providers actually use to make decisions. Combining with Lyric allows us to deliver at scale through the Lyric42 platform. Together, we can extend intelligence across the workflows where healthcare decisions are made.”
Rob Metcalf, Chief Executive Officer, Concert
“Concert’s ground-up approach to synchronize human- and machine-readable policy will plug into health plan workflows through the Lyric42 platform.
