Lyte Raises $165 Million Series C At $1.6 Billion Valuation For Physical AI Perception Platform

Lyte has raised $165 million in Series C funding led by Maverick Silicon, valuing the physical AI perception company at $1.6 billion post-money. The round also included Fidelity Management & Research Company, which led Lyte’s Series B, along with Atreides Management, Key1 Capital, Ora Global, formerly Exor Ventures, and additional existing and new investors.

The financing brings Lyte’s total capital raised since its founding in 2021 to $272 million.

As part of the financing, Andrew Homan, Managing Partner at Maverick Silicon, has joined Lyte’s Board of Directors.

Lyte develops custom silicon, multimodal sensors and spatial software that help robots determine where they are and what is moving around them.

The company said it has developed and owns the full perception stack from the transistor level through the spatial data produced for robotic systems.

Since emerging from stealth in January 2026, Lyte has entered production and begun shipping to robotics customers across inspection, logistics and manufacturing.

Its LyteVision perception platform was named CES 2026 Best of Innovation in Robotics.

Lyte was founded by former Apple and PrimeSense engineers whose earlier work helped bring 3D perception technology to Microsoft Kinect and later contributed to technologies underlying Face ID.

LyteVision combines 4D coherent vision, high-resolution imaging and inertial sensing on a single synchronized timeline.

Rather than relying on software to reconstruct position and motion from separate sensors, Lyte’s architecture uses its own silicon to measure those characteristics natively.

The company is positioning the platform as a more reliable perception foundation for robots and autonomous systems that need real-time information about their physical environments.

Lyte plans to use the Series C financing to scale production of its sensing silicon and LyteVision platform, expand its AI and perception capabilities, and increase deployments with robotics companies and industrial customers.

The company also expects to substantially expand its workforce over the coming year, hiring across silicon, software, optics, manufacturing, operations and go-to-market functions, including senior leadership positions.

KEY QUOTES:

“Physical AI has a sensing problem before it has a model problem. A robot cannot act safely on data that does not faithfully describe the world. We build the entire perception foundation, from custom silicon to the spatial data our systems produce. This financing will put LyteVision into more robots, across more environments, faster.”

Alexander Shpunt, CEO and Co-Founder of Lyte

“Lyte is building a foundational sensing platform that enables a wide range of robots to perceive and understand the world around them. The breadth and diversity of early customer demand strengthen our conviction that Lyte is poised to become one of the defining technology companies of the robotics era.”

Andrew Homan, Managing Partner at Maverick Silicon and Board Member at Lyte

“Owning the silicon separates companies that define a category from those that participate in one. Lyte controls every layer of how a robot understands the world and is now taking that breakthrough engineering into production.”

Avigdor Willenz, Chairman of Lyte
