MacLean Power Systems (MPS) announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Indel Bauru Indústria Eletrometalúrgica Ltda., a Brazil-based manufacturer of fuse links used in electrical power distribution systems. The transaction is expected to close during the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Bauru, Brazil, Indel Bauru manufactures fuse links that help protect electrical distribution networks from short circuits and overcurrent events that can damage grid infrastructure. The company serves electrical utilities across Brazil, the United States, and other international markets.

The acquisition strengthens MPS’s electrical grid infrastructure portfolio by adding Indel’s fuse link products, which complement the company’s existing transmission, distribution, and substation solutions. It also expands MPS’s manufacturing footprint and commercial presence in Brazil, an important growth market for the company.

MPS said Indel has built a strong reputation for quality and innovation, making it a strategic fit within its portfolio. The combined organization aims to provide a broader range of products and enhanced support to utility customers while advancing MPS’s long-term innovation strategy.

Following the transaction, Alexandre Brustello will join MacLean Power Systems as Vice President and General Manager of Bauru Operations, helping lead the continued growth of the business.
