Consulting and technology group Magellan announced the completion of its acquisition of Worldline Mobility and e-transactional Services (MeTS) and Worldline’s Digital Banking activities, a transaction that significantly expands the company’s international footprint and positions it as a major European consulting and technology player.

The acquisition combines Magellan’s consulting expertise with MeTS’ technology and digital platform capabilities, enabling the group to offer services across the full value chain, from strategic consulting and technology implementation to the design and operation of sovereign digital solutions.

Following the transaction, Magellan expects to reach €900 million in revenue in 2026, doubling its size and expanding to 6,700 employees across 13 countries. The company is also adopting a unified global brand under the Magellan name.

A major focus of the acquisition is the UK market, where Magellan is strengthening its presence through MeTS’ established position in transport and mobility. The combined business now represents approximately €100 million in UK revenue and serves sectors including public services, transportation, hospitality, finance, healthcare, and retail.

MeTS has worked with the UK rail industry for more than four decades, providing digital solutions that support ticketing, mobility services, and rail operations. Magellan believes the acquisition positions it to become a strategic partner as the UK rail sector undergoes modernization through the development of Great British Railways and a more unified customer-focused operating model.

The transaction reflects broader changes across the consulting and technology industries, where organizations increasingly seek partners capable of delivering strategy, technology implementation, and operational execution through a single provider. Magellan said the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver end-to-end digital, organizational, and sustainability transformations.

The combined group offers expertise across consulting disciplines, major enterprise technology platforms, including Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, AWS, Google Cloud, and Pega, as well as the development and operation of custom digital solutions. The company also gains access to a portfolio of software products spanning customer experience, mobility and transport, trust services, human resources, real estate, and sustainability.

Artificial intelligence is expected to play a central role in the company’s growth strategy. Magellan said AI technologies, including generative and agentic AI systems, are being integrated throughout its consulting, technology, and operational services to automate processes, improve decision-making, and support large-scale digital transformation projects.

The group also highlighted its capabilities in both sovereign and public cloud environments, including expertise operating within highly regulated sectors requiring stringent security, resilience, and data governance standards. Magellan noted that it is among a limited number of French technology providers holding the SecNumCloud certification from France’s national cybersecurity agency.

The newly enlarged company remains majority owned by its founders and approximately 300 managers, preserving its independent governance structure and entrepreneurial culture. Financial partner ICG supports the group’s growth strategy, while entities affiliated with Crédit Agricole, BNP Paribas, and Capza are also participating as shareholders in the new organization.
