Magnet Defense has entered an agreement to acquire Advanced Technology Group (ATG), a deal the company says will speed the integration of AI-enabled autonomy and command-and-control capabilities across its national security maritime platform portfolio.

Under the agreement, Magnet Defense plans to incorporate ATG’s open-architecture AI capabilities into its DefendAI battlespace management suite, positioning ATG’s software as a core layer supporting end-to-end autonomous maritime defense operations. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, and financial terms were not disclosed.

ATG provides development and integration services for advanced command-and-control and artificial intelligence systems spanning air, space, maritime, and surface platforms. Magnet Defense said ATG’s team of mission architects, AI integrators, and software engineers will bolster its ability to connect autonomous platforms into theater and operational battlespace management systems used across joint and multi-domain environments.

As part of the integration plan, Magnet Defense intends to align ATG’s Autonomy Exchange for Interoperable Modularity (AXIOM) autonomy stack with Magnet Defense’s existing autonomy capabilities. The companies said AXIOM’s mission modules are designed to streamline interoperability with native command-and-control systems used by military services, operations centers, and combatant commands across sea, land, air, space, and cyber domains. ATG’s leadership and employees are expected to continue supporting existing customers while contributing to expanded programs within the combined organization.

Magnet Defense describes itself as a developer of fully autonomous national security maritime platforms built for fleet operations and missile defense missions, combining AI-driven software, advanced manufacturing systems, and mission architecture expertise to deliver purpose-built unmanned surface vessels for U.S. and allied militaries.
