Main Capital Partners Acquires Majority Stake In IQ Messenger

Main Capital Partners announced it has acquired a majority stake in IQ Messenger (IQM), a provider of vendor-neutral critical communication software used by healthcare institutions, as the firm looks to back product innovation and accelerate the company’s international growth.

The partnership is intended to support IQM’s strategy to expand beyond its Benelux base through a mix of organic growth and a targeted buy-and-build approach. Main said it will work with the company to continue investing in the platform while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.

IQM is headquartered in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, and provides secure clinical messaging and alarm-management capabilities. The company, which has about 50 employees, serves roughly 230 healthcare organizations, including hospitals as well as out-of-hospital care providers such as home and elderly care, disabled care, and youth care organizations.

IQM’s platform integrates with more than 160 systems and devices—ranging from medical equipment and nurse call systems to mobile devices—to centralize alarm management and clinical communication. By consolidating workflows across multiple vendors, the platform is designed to reduce alarm fatigue, improve operational efficiency, and avoid dependence on a single vendor, according to the announcement.

Main and IQM said they aim to build an internationally leading platform for alarming and critical communications in healthcare, using IQM’s partner ecosystem in Northwestern Europe as a foundation. The companies identified expansion priorities, including the DACH region, the Nordics, France, and the United Kingdom.

Main said healthcare software is one of its core focus areas and that IQM is positioned to benefit from market trends such as the growing importance of secure communications, demand for interoperable platforms, and the shift toward more sophisticated out-of-hospital care.

The transaction is subject to customary approvals and completion of a consultation process with the works council of IQM’s seller, Anywhere365 Group B.V., also referred to as AnywhereNow. IQ Messenger has been part of AnywhereNow, backed by Bregal Milestone, since 2019.
