Main Capital Partners has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Confirma Software, a Nordic vertical software company, from U.S.-based private equity firm Abry Partners. The transaction will support Confirma’s next phase of growth, including further expansion across the Nordic region, strategic acquisitions in selected European markets, and continued investment in its operational capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Stockholm, Confirma provides mission-critical business software to small and midsize enterprises across Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark. The company has expanded through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, establishing a portfolio of specialized software businesses serving organizations across multiple industries.
Confirma currently serves more than 25,000 customers, including over 500 municipalities, and employs approximately 540 professionals across the Nordic region.
Its product portfolio spans five complementary business areas: enterprise resource planning (ERP), payment solutions, financial solutions, quality management systems, and business process solutions.
These offerings support financial, operational, and compliance activities, including accounting, payroll, point-of-sale operations, payment processing, receivables management, workforce management, and quality management.
Confirma’s strategy focuses on acquiring and developing software businesses with established positions in specialized markets. Its products are deeply integrated into customers’ daily operations, supporting long-term client relationships and a substantial proportion of recurring revenue.
The planned acquisition will bring Confirma into Main Capital Partners’ portfolio as the investment firm continues expanding its presence in the Nordic business-to-business software market.
Main will work alongside Confirma’s management team and key employees to strengthen the company’s operations, accelerate organic growth, and identify additional acquisition opportunities.
The investment strategy will emphasize expanding Confirma’s existing product portfolio, increasing its geographic reach, and improving operational efficiency across its businesses.
A central component of the partnership will be the continuation of Confirma’s buy-and-build strategy, which has been instrumental in developing the company’s presence across multiple Nordic markets since its founding.
Main intends to apply its experience investing in B2B software businesses to support further acquisitions that complement Confirma’s established capabilities and customer relationships.
Potential expansion opportunities include software companies operating in adjacent vertical markets and businesses capable of extending Confirma’s presence across the Nordic region and selected European countries.
The transaction comes as the Nordic vertical software market continues to benefit from business digitalization, increasingly complex regulatory requirements, and consolidation among specialized software providers.
Many small and midsize enterprises depend on software tailored to their industries and local operating environments. These requirements can include country-specific accounting standards, payroll regulations, payment infrastructure, and compliance obligations.
Confirma’s portfolio is designed to address these specialized needs by combining local market expertise with software products integrated into essential business processes.
The company’s established customer base and recurring revenue model provide a foundation for further expansion through both internal product development and acquisitions.
For Main Capital Partners, the transaction represents an opportunity to support a software group with an established Nordic footprint while extending its capabilities into additional markets.
For Confirma, the partnership provides access to Main’s international network, operational expertise, and experience supporting software companies through acquisition-led growth.
Jarle Mørk, Confirma’s CEO and co-founder, will continue working with the company’s management team as it enters its next phase under Main’s majority ownership.
The transaction remains subject to applicable regulatory approvals. Neither company disclosed the expected closing date or the size of the ownership stake Main intends to acquire.
