Jordan Singer’s Background

Jordan Singer

Could you tell me more about your background? Singer said:

“My background is in design engineering having previously founded Diagram (one of the earliest design tools to natively incorporate AI) – acquired by Figma – and drove impactful user experiences during my time at Cash App. My experience in building tools that combine design with advanced functionality is what inspired Mainframe’s product philosophy: prioritize user experience, simplicity and elegance.”

Formation Of The Company

How did the idea for the company come together? Singer shared:

“The core ways we interact with computers haven’t kept pace with technological advancements. While software has grown more powerful, it’s still reactive – requiring manual input at every step. I wanted to create something that fundamentally changes how we engage with technology, making it smarter, more proactive and seamless.”

Favorite Memory

What has been your favorite memory working on the company so far? Singer reflected:

“My favorite part of building Mainframe so far has been growing the team. It’s a joy to find talented people and allow them to do what they love in pursuit of our mission.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Singer explained:

“Mainframe is reimagining productivity with our first product, Cobot, a generative AI assistant that doesn’t wait for instructions but actively collaborates with users. Cobot anticipates your needs, streamlines workflows and removes the friction that comes with traditional tools, helping you focus on what matters most.”

Challenges Faced

What challenges have Singer and the team face in building the company? Singer acknowledged:

“One of the big challenges in AI is making products that can adapt and work in all contexts and environments in production that are dependable and useful. Consistently working on making sure this happens is core to what we’re doing.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Singer cited:

“The most significant milestone for the company so far has been our official launch in tandem with our oversubscribed $5.5M seed round, which brought the company’s total funding to $6.75M and highlighted investor confidence in Mainframe’s vision to build tools that elevate human productivity and reimagine how humans and agents interact.”

Funding

When asking Singer about the company’s funding details, he revealed:

“We recently raised an oversubscribed $5.5M seed round co-led by Lachy Groom and Peter Boyce (Stellation). We were fortunate to have participation from a roster of exceptional angel investors, including Akshay Kothari (Notion), Scott Belsky (Adobe), and product leaders from OpenAI, Stripe and Vercel.”

Total Addressable Market

What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Singer assessed:

“We’re targeting the productivity software market, which is estimated at over $60 billion globally and growing. The rise of hybrid work and AI adoption makes this an incredibly exciting and expansive space.”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Singer affirmed:

“Mainframe bridges the gap between advanced AI and intuitive design. Unlike other tools that simply automate tasks, Cobot works as a collaborative partner and actively anticipates user needs. We also focus on design and usability, ensuring our tools feel as elegant and enjoyable to use as they are powerful.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future company goals? Singer concluded:

“We’re focused on growing our team, refining Cobot for its official launch in the new year and onboarding early users. Building strong foundations now will enable us to scale quickly in the near future. Beyond that, we’re laying the groundwork for a broader suite of next-generation AI-driven solutions.”
