Manifold, an AI platform focused on life sciences workflows from discovery through clinical and precision care, has raised $18 million in a Series B financing led by Reach Capital, with participation from SilverArc Capital, Industry Ventures, and existing investors TQ Ventures and Calibrate Ventures. The round brings Manifold’s total capital raised to $40 million as the company positions itself as a category player in “vertical AI” for the life sciences market.
Manifold said it is building purpose-built infrastructure to address the operational and scientific complexity of life sciences, emphasizing support for multimodal biomedical data, multi-entity collaboration, and governance requirements spanning organizations and sensitive datasets. The company described its platform as enabling agentic AI workflows across the “bench to clinic” continuum, including target identification, clinical development, market access, and precision medicine applications.
With the new funding, Manifold plans to advance what it calls its “Agent OS,” aiming to improve how AI agents operate on biomedical data, use scientific tools, and incorporate institutional context across use cases such as biomarker development, model validation, trial design, and real-world evidence generation. The company also plans to deepen collaboration infrastructure to help teams share analyses and reuse context while maintaining governance and data sovereignty, and to scale its data ecosystem so that dataset creation becomes easier as more organizations participate without relinquishing ownership.
Manifold pointed to progress over the past year that it said reflects product-market fit and compounding network effects, including agents tailored to specific datasets and tools across workflows such as cohort identification, biomarker discovery, treatment pathway analysis, and outcomes research. The company also cited a growing enterprise and research customer base that includes Foundation Medicine and the University of Virginia, alongside strategic collaborations with the Broad Institute, AWS, and Anthropic. Manifold added that, as an operator of Terra, it serves thousands of researchers across hundreds of life sciences organizations globally.
