Maple Park Capital Partners has named Robert Zell as its new Chief Financial Officer, adding a finance executive with more than two decades of investment firm experience to its leadership team. The appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to building institutional-grade infrastructure in support of its investors and portfolio companies.
Zell joins Maple Park Capital Partners after founding Zell Advisory LLC in July 2025, where he spent nine months providing fractional and temporary CFO, COO, and compliance support to investment fund managers and allocators including family offices and endowments. He also assisted clients with fund launch preparation and investment manager diligence.
Prior to that, Zell served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Alta Fox Capital Management, a Fort Worth-based investment firm focused on fundamental research across public equities, special situations credit, and private investments. During his nearly three years there, he managed operations, compliance, and investor relations, implemented a new portfolio management system, and helped the firm add credit trading capabilities following the hire of its first credit specialist.
Before Alta Fox, Zell was COO and CFO at Dalpha Capital Management, a Texas-based investment management firm specializing in digital assets, where he handled fund administration, budgeting, investor relations reporting, and the buildout of an internal operational due diligence program.
Earlier in his career, Zell spent more than three years as Director of Investments at Memorial Hermann Health System, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in Southeast Texas, where he helped grow the hospital’s strategic venture investment program from $25 million to more than $60 million in assets under management. He also served as Director of Operational Due Diligence at Crestline Investors, an institutional alternative investment management firm with more than $20 billion in assets under management, and as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Rock Island Capital, a private equity firm focused on middle market companies.
Zell began his career as a senior accountant at Artesia Technologies before moving to Institutional Shareholder Services, where he served as Assistant Controller.
Maple Park Capital Partners is a Dallas and New York-based investment firm focused on the experiential economy, with a concentration in multi-unit businesses, franchisors and franchisees, location-based entertainment, youth enrichment, travel and hospitality, and business services.
