Marchex, a Seattle-based provider of AI-powered conversational intelligence and analytics solutions, has completed its acquisition of Archenia, a performance-based customer qualification and acquisition company. Marchex stockholders approved the transaction on July 1, 2026, with approximately 99.9% of votes cast in favor. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Marchex’s core business is conversational intelligence — analyzing customer phone calls and conversations on behalf of enterprise clients to surface insights about customer intent, sales performance, and marketing effectiveness. The company has accumulated a substantial base of first-party conversation data across B2B2C verticals including insurance, home services, healthcare, and automotive. Archenia brings a complementary but distinct capability: AI-powered lead qualification and outcome-based customer acquisition, using natural language analytics, automated conversational IVR, and machine learning models to detect consumer intent in real time and validate leads against advertiser-defined outcomes such as appointments, sales, and high-intent conversations. Advertisers using Archenia pay for verified, AI-validated outcomes rather than raw lead volume.
The strategic logic of the combination is to extend Marchex’s platform from insight generation into action and outcome delivery. Previously, Marchex could tell a business what was happening in its customer conversations; the combined platform can now also act on that intelligence to drive qualified customer acquisition and measure the downstream result. Marchex expects the combined company’s revenue run rate to be approximately $15 million per quarter — or $60 million annualized — with potential growth in the 15–20% range over the course of 2026. Adjusted EBITDA margins are expected to improve to 10% or more in 2026, with Archenia contributing additional positive EBITDA to the combined entity.
KEY QUOTE:
“By combining Marchex’s conversational intelligence and analytics capabilities with Archenia’s performance-based customer qualification and acquisition technology, we are creating a differentiated, more comprehensive AI-powered solution that not only helps businesses better understand customer interactions, but also turns those interactions into measurable outcomes with demonstrable value impact. We believe that the combined company can achieve greater revenue scale and growth, higher margins, expanded market reach, and enhanced strategic flexibility.”
