Mark Fischer and Aaron Black have signed an agreement to acquire Lane Office Furniture, a New York-based commercial furniture dealer founded in 1922. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Fischer, who most recently served as Lane Office’s CEO, and Black will become co-principals of the company.
The acquisition marks the end of Gregory F. Burke’s 34-year ownership period. Burke will remain involved during the transition to the new owners.
Fischer and Black plan to focus on company culture, client service and growth while building on Lane Office’s 104-year operating history.
Their strategy includes deepening Lane’s relationship with workplace furniture company MillerKnoll and expanding its delivery of Digital Component Construction through Falkbuilt New York.
Black brings more than 20 years of commercial construction experience. He spent 10 years at a national office furniture dealer and most recently served as an executive vice president.
Lane Office is a MillerKnoll authorized dealer and the exclusive Falkbuilt branch for New York.
The company designs and delivers commercial workplace environments and modular construction systems for clients nationwide.
