MarqVision, a company that uses artificial intelligence to help businesses protect and manage their brands, has announced the closing of a $48 million Series B funding round. This brings the company’s total funding to $90 million. The round was led by Peak XV Partners, formerly known as Sequoia Capital India & SEA, with additional participation from Salesforce Ventures, HSG, Coral Capital, Michael Seibel of Y Combinator, and returning investors including Y Combinator, Altos Ventures, and Atinum Investment. The new funding will enable MarqVision to expand its services and strengthen its position as a leader in brand protection and digital risk management.
Traditionally, brand protection has focused on reacting to problems, such as counterfeits or unauthorized sales, after they have appeared. MarqVision is pushing for a new approach that it calls brand control. Instead of simply defending against threats, brand control involves actively managing every digital and physical space where a brand is present. In today’s world, where generative AI, piracy, impersonation, and counterfeit goods are growing challenges, this shift gives companies not only the ability to protect their intellectual property but also the power to shape how customers experience their brand.
MarqVision’s platform combines AI-driven detection with legal expertise to deliver faster and more effective enforcement. The company reports that its clients often experience measurable business benefits, including revenue growth increases of 5% to 10%. Many companies now view digital risk protection as a worthwhile investment, dedicating a small percentage of their online revenue to safeguard their brand. What is especially notable is that MarqVision’s services are no longer used only by legal and intellectual property teams. Today, 60 percent of its users come from marketing, e-commerce, and sales departments, showing how brand control has evolved into a strategic tool for growth rather than just a defensive measure.
Alongside the funding announcement, MarqVision has introduced a refreshed brand identity to reflect its evolution from a company focused solely on anti-counterfeit enforcement to one that provides comprehensive AI-powered services for trust, safety, and revenue recovery. This rebranding underscores its role as a category leader in modern brand protection.
The company has also reached a vital growth milestone, with its annual recurring revenue doubling each year. MarqVision now serves over 350 global companies across various industries, including fashion, luxury goods, beauty, gaming, pharmaceuticals, entertainment, automotive, and consumer electronics. Its rapid adoption highlights the growing demand for advanced solutions to combat digital and physical brand threats.
MarqVision has established a strong presence in Asia, a region renowned for its high levels of counterfeiting and piracy. With offices in Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo, as well as legal and operational hubs across the area, the company can respond quickly and effectively to infringement issues. Earlier this year, it strengthened its global leadership team by bringing on industry veterans Kevin Day and Takeshi Suzuki, both of whom have more than 15 years of experience at OpSec in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
Since its founding in 2020, MarqVision has developed a powerful AI engine capable of detecting and removing counterfeit goods, piracy, and impersonation across hundreds of online marketplaces and platforms. With its expanding suite of services, including protection against grey market sales and digital piracy, the company is setting a new standard for how brands safeguard and control their presence in an increasingly complex digital world.
