Marsh McLennan Agency announced a significant expansion of its presence in Hawai‘i with the acquisition of three Honolulu-based insurance brokerages from Tradewind Group. The deal includes Atlas Insurance Agency, Pyramid Insurance Centre, and IC International, each of which has long served businesses and individuals across the Hawaiian islands. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The three firms collectively hold a leading position in the state’s insurance market, offering commercial and personal insurance solutions with particular strengths in municipalities, transportation, and hospitality. All employees from Atlas, Pyramid, and IC International will join Marsh McLennan Agency and continue operating from their existing offices, ensuring continuity for clients and maintaining local ties.
The acquisition marks a long-term investment in a market that MMA describes as having strong economic fundamentals and diversified industry needs. With the integration of these brokerages, the company aims to pair its national resources with trusted local expertise to broaden its services for clients throughout Hawai‘i.
Tradewind Group, the seller, emphasized that the transaction allows its brokerage businesses to grow within a larger platform while enabling Tradewind to focus more directly on its other priorities, including investing in local talent and real estate initiatives.
