Marshall University has launched a new partnership with InScribe Education to enhance connection, engagement, and resource accessibility for its online undergraduate students. The university will integrate InScribe’s digital community platform into its Marshall Online programming as part of a broader initiative to provide students with a unified, supportive digital ecosystem.
The collaboration follows earlier attempts by Marshall Online to build community within its learning management system. Leadership found that the LMS environment could not sustain meaningful peer interaction or organic engagement. By adopting InScribe, the university introduces a centralized space where students can access resources, discover events, interact with peers, and stay updated throughout their academic journey.
Marshall Online is cultivating this environment by pairing administrative oversight with selected student leaders who help guide conversations and highlight campus activities. The platform has also contributed to increasing attendance and viewership for live virtual events, aided by InScribe’s reminder and visibility capabilities. Recordings of office hours, live sessions, and informational programming are now stored in the platform to provide ongoing support.
The university is also benefiting from InScribe’s detailed analytics. Thirty-day reports and engagement insights help faculty and administrators better understand student needs and measure the effectiveness of the platform. Early enthusiasm from students and staff has prompted exploration of a future expansion to include Marshall’s online graduate programs.
InScribe’s leadership expressed excitement about the momentum at Marshall and the role digital community design can play in improving student persistence across programs.
