Marubeni Corporation has completed the acquisition of EagleRidge Energy, a Dallas-based natural gas operator, strengthening its energy portfolio and expanding its natural gas footprint across North America. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
EagleRidge has grown rapidly through a series of acquisitions completed since September 2024, making it the third-largest operator in the Barnett Shale. The company now operates more than 3,500 wells, produces approximately 300 MMcfe/d, and manages operations across 450,000 gross acres in North Texas.
The acquisition is expected to support Marubeni’s strategy of expanding its energy operations in North America while leveraging EagleRidge’s operational expertise and established position in the Barnett Shale.
The company also announced several executive leadership changes alongside the transaction. Tom Ashton and Sam Miller have been appointed co-Presidents and will jointly oversee operational and financial initiatives. Hiroki Shima has been named Chairman, while Michael Ronca will transition to the role of Vice Chairman, where he will continue providing strategic guidance.
EagleRidge said its entire management and operational team will remain in place following the acquisition, providing continuity as the company pursues additional growth opportunities under Marubeni’s ownership.
