Masabi Acquires Passenger Technology Group To Expand Transit Ticketing and Information Offering

By Amit Chowdhry ● Feb 8, 2026

Masabi, a provider of enterprise SaaS fare collection technology for public transport, has acquired Passenger Technology Group Ltd., a U.K.-based passenger information and ticketing company, in a move aimed at strengthening Masabi’s end-to-end mobility platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Masabi said the deal combines its fare collection, payments, and back-office platform, Justride, with Passenger’s white-label mobile apps, websites, and real-time information tools used by public transport authorities and operators across the U.K.

Masabi framed the acquisition as a step toward a more connected, cloud-based mobility platform that supports both operators and passengers, enabling cities and transport authorities to modernize and adopt more seamless, data-driven transit systems. Passenger, for its part, positioned the transaction as an opportunity to scale its customer experience platform into new markets while continuing to serve its existing clients.

Masabi said the combined offering supports a “plan-pay-ride” passenger journey that brings together mobile ticketing, account-based ticketing, and open payments. The company outlined a shared vision with Passenger focused on connected, customer-centric, cloud-native public transport, emphasizing integrated journey experiences from planning and payment through boarding and real-time updates, alongside the operational benefits of modern systems that can scale and adapt more quickly. Masabi also highlighted the role of improved data in enabling better operational decisions and more relevant passenger communications.

The company said Masabi and Passenger will work to deepen product integration, expand functionality, and enhance support capabilities while ensuring continuity of service for existing customers. Masabi also noted it will showcase capabilities from the combined companies at Transport Ticketing Global in London on March 17–18.
