Mastercam, a CAD/CAM software provider and part of Sandvik Group, announced it has completed the acquisition of Advanced Mechanical Engineering AB (AME) in Sweden, a longtime channel partner, as it moves to deepen its market presence and customer support across Sweden and Norway.

The deal brings AME’s regional customer relationships and decades of CAD/CAM expertise directly into Mastercam’s operations, a shift the company said will improve responsiveness and service delivery in the two Nordic markets. AME has served as a Mastercam channel partner in Sweden and Norway for more than 30 years, providing software solutions and technical support to manufacturers across the region.

Following the acquisition, AME will operate under the name Mastercam Sverige, reflecting Mastercam’s push to expand its EMEA footprint through a mix of organic growth and targeted acquisitions. Mastercam said the move also advances its strategy of transitioning select geographies from a traditional partner-led approach to direct operations, enabling faster access to technical expertise, quicker issue resolution, and training programs delivered by in-market specialists familiar with local manufacturing requirements and practices.

Mastercam positioned the acquisition as part of its broader role within Sandvik’s digital manufacturing portfolio, where the company has been focused on connected manufacturing workflows and expanding localized support capabilities for manufacturers worldwide. Financial terms were not disclosed.
