Matillion: Tim O’Neil Appointed As Chief Revenue Officer

By Amit Chowdhry • Mar 16, 2026

Matillion announced the appointment of Tim O’Neil as Chief Revenue Officer as the company looks to accelerate its enterprise go-to-market strategy amid growing demand for its AI data automation platform, Maia.

O’Neil joins Matillion with extensive experience in enterprise data software, having previously held leadership roles at Alation and ThoughtSpot. In his new role, he will focus on scaling sales, partnerships, and field engineering as the company expands adoption of its AI-driven platform.

The appointment comes as Matillion sees increased traction for Maia, which automates complex data workflows. Enterprises including Merck, EDF, and GE Healthcare are using the platform to reduce manual data work and enable teams to focus on delivering data products. Maia integrates with major ecosystem platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, and Databricks, while leveraging AI models from providers like Anthropic.

Matillion said Maia provides enterprise data teams with autonomous capabilities to design, build, and maintain data pipelines, positioning the company to capitalize on rising demand for AI-native data infrastructure. The company, which achieved unicorn status in 2021, serves thousands of global enterprises, including Cisco, London Stock Exchange Group, and ServiceNow.

KEY QUOTES:

“What drew me to Matillion is what Maia is already doing for enterprises like St James Place and Precision for Medicine. Their data leaders aren’t just running pipelines — they’re delivering data outcomes. That’s the shift. And with the ecosystem Matillion has built with Snowflake, AWS, and Databricks combined with the AI innovation coming from Anthropic and other labs, there’s a real opportunity to help data leaders stop worrying about manual data work and start delivering at the pace their businesses actually need.”

Tim O’Neil, Chief Revenue Officer, Matillion

“Tim shares the same vision for Maia and how Revenue teams drive data outcomes for enterprise customers using AI. His experience scaling sales, partnerships, and field engineering at Alation and ThoughtSpot means he understands the market, the buyer, and what it takes to build a field organization that wins. We’re excited about Maia’s impact— and Tim is the right person to help accelerate that.”
