Mayer Brown has added Justin Hewett as a partner in its Global Leveraged Finance and Private Capital Group in Houston, continuing the firm’s expansion of its Texas finance practice. Hewett joins Mayer Brown from DLA Piper.
His practice focuses on representing private credit funds, commercial banks and other institutional lenders across domestic and cross-border debt financings.
Hewett advises on growth capital financing, acquisition financing, corporate lending, restructurings and workouts.
His experience includes both sponsor-backed and non-sponsor transactions involving complex collateral structures, intercreditor arrangements and cross-border collateral matters.
Hewett also advises on equity-linked structures frequently used in growth financings, including convertible debt, warrants and preferred equity.
Mayer Brown identified expansion of its Leveraged Finance and Private Capital Group as a priority for its Houston office.
The addition gives the firm another senior lawyer focused on lenders, sponsors and financial institutions as private credit continues to play a larger role in corporate financing.
