Mayer Brown has added Michelle Herman as a partner in its Global Trade Finance practice in New York, expanding the firm’s structured finance capabilities.
Herman joins Mayer Brown from Jones Day and brings extensive experience advising borrowers and lenders on domestic and cross-border financing transactions across a range of asset classes.
Her work includes financings involving trade receivables, commercial loans, installment sales contracts, auto and equipment loans and leases, trademarks, natural gas assets and other structured finance products.
Herman has particular experience in trade receivables securitizations and other structured finance transactions. She also advises clients on bankruptcy, accounting and commercial considerations that arise in complex financing structures.
Mayer Brown said her addition strengthens its Global Trade Finance practice and expands its structured finance capabilities in New York.
The firm noted that its lawyers have worked across the table from Herman on trade-related financings for more than a decade, giving the team familiarity with her technical knowledge and approach to complex transactions.
