Mayer Brown announced that Sarah Goodwin will join the firm as a partner in its Finance practice, enhancing its London-based leveraged finance and private capital capabilities as part of its ongoing global expansion strategy.

Goodwin joins from Kirkland & Ellis, where she built a practice advising private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and private credit providers on complex cross-border financing transactions. She brings more than a decade of experience across a wide range of capital structures, including syndicated and private credit facilities, unitranche, second lien, term loan B, recurring revenue structures, preferred equity, and bank and bond financings, as well as restructurings.

Her addition supports Mayer Brown’s broader push to expand its transatlantic leveraged finance and private capital platform, with a focus on strengthening upper mid-market and large-cap capabilities across EMEA, the United States, and Asia-Pacific. The firm aims to deepen its offering for clients navigating increasingly complex financing environments.

In her new role, Goodwin will focus on driving coordinated growth across private equity and private credit, while collaborating with the firm’s restructuring team on hybrid capital solutions and cross-border opportunities. She will also leverage her international experience, including time spent in London, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong, to support global client engagements.

Mayer Brown has continued to invest in its EMEA private capital platform through a series of recent hires across London and Frankfurt, reflecting growing demand for integrated advisory services across the private markets ecosystem.
