McDanel Advanced Materials and Richland Glass, both portfolio companies of Artemis, said they have completed a strategic merger that combines advanced ceramics, optical technologies and specialty glass manufacturing into a single, more integrated materials-science platform.
The companies said the combined organization will offer a broader portfolio of engineered materials and components designed for “no-fail” performance in extreme environments, targeting mission-critical applications across aerospace, defense, life science, semiconductor and diversified industrial markets.
Under the deal, McDanel’s century-long technical ceramics capabilities will be paired with Rayotek’s optical technologies and Richland’s precision specialty glass expertise, creating what the companies described as a multi-material solutions provider able to address complex design and performance requirements that span ceramics, optics and engineered glass.
The companies said operations will continue with the same teams and facilities, and that existing customer programs and commitments will remain unchanged, with customers gaining access to expanded technical resources and capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.
McDanel manufactures high-performance technical ceramics and optical technologies used in demanding applications, with materials expertise spanning high-purity alumina, mullite, zirconia, glass, sapphire and other advanced materials. Richland Glass produces precision glass solutions for customers in life science, aerospace and industrial markets, emphasizing high-precision forming, process controls and stringent quality requirements.
