Meadow Memorials announced that it has raised $11 million in Series A funding, led by Lachy Groom and Haystack, as the company continues building a national brand in the deathcare industry.

The company, which offers a software-driven and asset-light funeral planning platform, said it has served thousands of families and has become the largest independent provider in California in less than two years. Meadow recently expanded into Texas and Washington and plans to launch in Arizona next.

Meadow’s platform focuses on simplifying funeral planning through automation and transparent pricing. The company noted that its approach reduces administrative burden and real estate costs, allowing savings to be passed on to customers. Its $1,295 offering, which includes a digital portal for families, is positioned as significantly more affordable than the national average cost of nearly $7,000.

The company also highlighted strong customer satisfaction metrics, reporting a Net Promoter Score above 85. Preplanning services now account for more than one-third of its customer base.

With the new funding, Meadow plans to continue expanding geographically while broadening its service offerings, including further investment in preplanning solutions.

“We’re proud to share that we’ve raised $11m in Series A funding – led by Lachy Groom and Haystack. We’re building the first national brand in deathcare, and have now served thousands of families, becoming the largest independent provider in California in less than two years. We expanded to Texas and Washington in February, and will be launching in Arizona next month. Our software-led, asset-lite approach has allowed us to offer honest, affordable pricing and unmatched hospitality (with a NPS of 85+). Thousands of hours in automated paperwork and millions of dollars of real estate that we save is passed back to consumers in the form of cost savings and more personalized service. Meadow’s $1,295 offering (including a digital portal to keep families informed) saves our clients thousands of dollars compared to the national average cost of nearly $7,000. With this new fundraise, we’ll continue our geographical expansion and expand our service offerings, including preplanning which now represents more than a third of our customers.”
