Mediacom Communications has appointed Catherine Commisso Vice Chair and Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Administration, elevating her into one of the company’s most senior leadership and governance positions.
Commisso will report directly to Chairman and CEO Giuseppe B. Commisso.
As Vice Chair, she will support the chairman, board and senior leadership team while providing continuity and institutional stewardship for Mediacom’s long-term priorities.
Her corporate strategy responsibilities will include long-term planning, competitive positioning, evaluation of significant opportunities and risks, board and management alignment and selected enterprise-wide initiatives.
A major focus will be developing strategies to increase Mediacom’s sustainable free cash flow through profitable revenue growth, operating efficiency and disciplined capital investment.
Commisso will also retain oversight of Mediacom’s administration functions.
Those responsibilities include executive and administrative support, Mediacom Park facilities, corporate travel, the company’s American Express corporate card program, reception and mail operations, employee hospitality and coordination of corporate meetings and events.
The appointment also carries a family legacy dimension.
Catherine Commisso is the widow of Mediacom founder Rocco B. Commisso and said his guidance encouraged her to take on a more senior role within the company.
Mediacom is the fourth-largest cable operator in the U.S. and provides broadband, video, phone and mobile services to more than 3 million households and businesses across 22 states.
The company has a particularly strong presence in smaller markets across the Midwest and Southeast.
