Medisolv Acquires Health Elements AI To Reduce Manual Chart Review In Quality Reporting

Medisolv, a national leader in healthcare quality data management, has announced the acquisition of Health Elements AI, whose technology automates the clinical data abstraction process for quality reporting and clinical registries. The acquisition is designed to address one of the most persistent and costly challenges in healthcare quality programs: the reliance on time-intensive manual chart review to capture the clinical data needed for reporting, performance improvement, and registry submissions. By bringing Health Elements AI into its platform, Medisolv aims to reduce administrative burden for the healthcare organizations it serves while improving the completeness and reliability of the clinical data they work with.

Medisolv currently works with more than 1,800 healthcare organizations nationwide, supports over 500 quality and safety measures, and manages more than 140 million patient records across its customer base. The company directly supports the work of more than 4,000 chart abstracters who collectively reviewed nearly 3 million cases last year. Health Elements AI’s technology, which achieves a 96% accuracy rate, will enhance the work of those abstracters, enabling organizations to move faster, scale more efficiently, and act on more complete data without expanding headcount proportionally to expanding workloads.

The acquisition also expands Medisolv’s reach beyond traditional CMS and accreditation programs into clinical registries and specialty-driven quality initiatives — including programs from organizations such as the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the American Heart Association. These registries represent an important and growing segment of the quality reporting landscape, and Medisolv says the addition of Health Elements AI positions the company to serve its clients across a broader range of reporting obligations than it could previously address. The deal follows Medisolv’s earlier acquisition of Lilac Software, which expanded the company into Medicare Advantage and payer quality programs.

Health Elements AI was founded to make clinical data more accessible and usable for the teams responsible for quality and performance, and its CEO Jeff LeBrun said the combination with Medisolv provides the scale, network, and clinical expertise needed to help more organizations improve how they capture, use, and act on their data. Together, the companies aim to help health systems, payers, and professional associations who share a common goal of improving patient outcomes, access, and affordability by connecting them through a unified platform for quality data across the healthcare ecosystem.
