MedTech Innovator (MTI), the world’s largest accelerator for medical technology startups, announced the 65 companies selected for its 2026 Accelerator Cohort and unveiled the MTI Index, a new recognition platform designed to provide investors, health systems, strategic partners, and media with a structured way to discover and track promising medtech companies.
The 2026 cohort was selected from 1,835 applicants worldwide, representing the top 4% of submissions. The companies will participate in MTI’s flagship four-month accelerator program focused on helping medical technology startups reduce risk, raise capital, and accelerate access to the U.S. market. The selected companies also make up the inaugural MTI Index 2026.
The MTI Index is designed as a dynamic benchmark that tracks growth, survival, and commercial traction across the medical technology sector. The platform will be updated periodically to highlight company progress, category trends, and key industry developments.
According to MTI, companies included in the index have advanced through one of the industry’s most competitive evaluation processes, including the organization’s Radar Evaluation Process and Radar Forum, where applicants are assessed by hundreds of industry experts.
The accelerator program launches at the invitation-only Innovator Summit in San Francisco on June 2-4, followed by an investor showcase at Wilson Sonsini’s Medical Device Digital Health Conference on June 5.
Throughout the four-month program, participating companies will receive mentorship, coaching, and access to MTI’s network of industry experts and partners. MTI said its accelerator has helped bring more than 500 products to market and has maintained a 93% survival rate among participating companies over the past decade.
The program concludes with showcase events and competitions where companies will compete for a share of $800,000 in funding. All cohort members will participate in presentations and partnering opportunities at The MedTech Conference in Boston in October, followed by MTI’s early-stage and mid-stage finals competitions.
As part of the 2026 program, 13 companies will participate in specialty accelerator tracks. Five companies will join the MTI/ASPS Plastic Surgery Accelerator in partnership with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, while eight companies will participate in the Heart and Brain Health Accelerator in collaboration with American Heart Association Ventures and Studio Red.
