Menos AI has raised $5.1 million in Pre-A financing led by returning investor Copper Sky Capital, bringing total funding for the institutional investment AI company to more than $10 million. Alpha Square Group also participated.
Jack Selby, who also serves as Managing Director at Thiel Capital, led the investment for Copper Sky.
Menos AI launched its Sonar research agent in August 2025 and has since expanded into broader enterprise AI infrastructure for institutional investment firms.
The company works with large asset managers and hedge funds and is developing a private context layer designed to capture firms’ proprietary research, portfolio data, investment reasoning and workflows.
Menos is positioning the technology around the idea that investment firms’ differentiated value increasingly resides not in access to underlying AI models but in their accumulated institutional knowledge and judgment.
Its platform is designed to structure that knowledge so both investment professionals and AI agents can use it across research, reporting, portfolio management and operations.
Menos said the system keeps proprietary knowledge under the investment firm’s control while maintaining traceability around information and workflows.
The company’s goal is to allow investment organizations to increase research and client-service capacity without requiring costs to increase at the same rate.
KEY QUOTES:
“Asset managers are paid for judgment and execution. We are building the context layer that connects the two. It gives firms a foundation to turn their investment reasoning into testable hypotheses about what comes next, while giving AI agents the knowledge to put that expertise to work.”
William Wu, Co-Founder and CEO of Menos AI
“We backed Menos AI early because the team understood how AI could reshape institutional investing. Leading this round reflects our conviction that the context layer will be core infrastructure for the next generation of asset managers.”
Jack Selby, Copper Sky Capital
