Mercer Global Advisors has launched a national Women & Wealth practice, establishing a dedicated group focused on advancing women through holistic financial planning, wealth building, and community engagement.
The Denver-based registered investment adviser said the initiative reflects a growing shift in wealth demographics, with women expected to control $34 trillion in assets in the United States by 2030. The firm said the new practice embeds women-centered financial planning and career advancement into its leadership structure, business priorities and client experience.
The practice will be led by Laura Combs, executive managing partner and head of Women & Wealth. Mercer Advisors said the initiative is designed to create stronger support structures for female investors while also expanding opportunities for women fiduciary professionals within the firm.
Mercer Advisors plans to focus the practice on financial areas that often have heightened relevance for women investors, including longevity planning, career transitions, caregiving, business ownership and multigenerational wealth management. These services will be delivered through the firm’s integrated family office platform, which includes investment management, financial planning, estate planning and tax services.
Combs joined Mercer Advisors in 2008 and has led growth efforts across multiple regions, including the firm’s Colorado headquarters market. Most recently, she oversaw the firm’s North division, covering operations from Illinois to Idaho. She also helped launch InvestHERs, a companywide program introduced in 2018 aimed at supporting women investors and financial professionals through mentorship, education and community programming.
Mercer Advisors said nearly 50% of its client-facing team members are women, while women represent about 40% of the company’s executive team. The firm believes these figures reflect a leadership structure that aligns with the evolving demographics of wealth holders and advisory professionals.
Mercer Advisors is headquartered in Denver and provides fee-based family office services, including financial planning, estate and tax planning, insurance solutions and trust administration. The firm manages approximately $96 billion in client assets and operates through more than 110 locations nationwide with over 1,500 employees.
