Meta announced new AI-powered features for Facebook designed to help users find answers, create photos and videos, and share content more easily.

The updates include AI Mode, new creative editing capabilities, camera roll sharing suggestions, collage templates, transition effects, and AI-powered photo presets. Meta said the tools are intended to make Facebook more useful for search, discovery, content creation, and sharing.

AI Mode is a new Facebook search experience powered by Meta AI. The feature provides answers grounded in what people are publicly sharing across Meta apps, including Groups and Reels, rather than only returning a traditional list of links. Meta said the goal is to surface real perspectives, opinions, recommendations, and experiences from people already using its platforms.

The company also introduced new AI-enabled editing tools for creative sharing. Facebook’s camera roll sharing suggestions are being updated to include collage cutout templates, including options based on recent moments with friends, along with transition effects to generate stylized video montages ready to share.

Meta said camera roll sharing suggestions remain opt-in only and can be turned off at any time.

Facebook is also adding new AI photo presets that allow users to change clothing, hair, and accessories. For sports fans, the feature lets them virtually wear a team jersey. Users can access the experience by tapping the AI Edit icon in Stories and selecting Wear It, or by going to a profile picture, selecting Restyle profile picture with AI, and choosing Wardrobe.

Meta said the updates are part of its broader effort to bring AI into the Facebook experiences people already use, helping users search, create, and share with less effort.
