Meta Introduces Seller, A Dedicated App For Facebook Marketplace Sellers

Meta announced the launch of Seller, a new app built specifically for people who sell on Facebook Marketplace, giving them tools including AI-powered listing creation, a unified inbox, inventory management, and performance insights all in one place. Seller is now available on the App Store for users 18 and older in the United States.

The launch coincides with Facebook Marketplace’s tenth anniversary. Meta said Marketplace has grown from its origins in Facebook Groups into a platform where 430 million items are listed each month globally, and for many sellers has become a side hustle, a small business, or a source of real income. Seller is designed for that group of frequent sellers, giving them a dedicated space to manage and grow their businesses beyond the standard Facebook experience.

The app syncs directly with Facebook Marketplace, carrying over existing listings, messages, and selling history, with anything created in Seller automatically appearing on Marketplace where buyers already shop. Sellers can still list items directly through Facebook, but Seller is positioned as an additional dedicated option for those managing a higher volume of sales.

The app includes a home screen that surfaces items needing attention, such as items to ship, buyers to respond to, or listings to reprice, alongside a snapshot of sales performance.

Listing creation is supported by Meta AI, which fills in details like title, description, price suggestions, and category from uploaded photos, and a bulk listing feature allows sellers to create multiple listings at once. Seller also includes full inventory management, a unified inbox that organizes buyer messages by item, and performance insights covering views, clicks, message threads, and sold listings to help sellers price competitively.

Seller is currently available on the App Store, with a web experience for sellers who download the app on iOS and Android now in testing. Meta said the app will continue to evolve based on feedback from its seller community.
